all right welcome back to Android Weekly
my name is Jason this week we not only
talk about what Android lollipop might
look on your phone but when you actually
might receive it on your device and I
take on Android authority staff in daddy
lonely not a tough tensor I'll ride ha
to take a break from trying to pone
Hindi but let's talk about what Andrew
Authority staff thought about lollipop
it turns out it's much more than just
material design and it's all good news
first our own gary sim said there is
just one word brilliant google has shown
time and time again that android is in
good hands there are functional
improvements with android l there is the
new material design and there are
support for 64 bits not only that but it
looks like google is doing a good job at
getting Android 5.0 on to some of the
older Nexus devices I have a Nexus 7 and
we're just itching for an upgrade so the
next question is how does it compare to
KitKat our own and regret as for
comparing it to KitKat it is night and
day
I love the new notifications quick
settings searchable settings and so much
more battery conservation mode is also
pretty slick it really leaves Android
4.4 in the dust now what does the man
and the legend himself think here's Joe
handy now some of the most visible
updates are the revamped
navigation bar which now features the
more abstract triangle circle rectangle
icon set and the status bar which now
can be colored or transparent depending
on the app the lockscreen now displays
rich notifications instead of just icons
which include details about the message
and it should make quickly checking
messages or game notifications easier
than ever before there is now a do not
disturb mode keyboard selection icon in
the navbar smart battery consumption and
charging estimates raw image support
better accessibility features are just a
few of the small improvements set for
Android lollipop now I know what you
think and you're thinking chase what am
I gonna get lollipop on my device well I
hooked you up below you can check out
this link right here where our own
Android 30 staff give educated guess
it's on when you will receive Android L
on your particular device but if you
have a Nexus device you are expected to
get it as early as November third no I
know some of you were lusting after the
Droid turbo and we talked about it last
week and for those of you who are
battery hogs you're going to like this
the Droid turbo is expected to feature a
5.2 inch quad HD display a Snapdragon
805 processor a 21 megapixel camera and
if the report is accurate and ultra high
capacity 3900 milliamp hour battery one
for daddy 400 and if to new Nexus
devices weren't enough Google announced
the Nexus player oh yeah the Nexus
player was designed in collaboration
with asus and acts as a streaming hub
for music movies and other videos just
hook it up to your TV via the HDMI cable
and stream content over your home Wi-Fi
network the entertainment hub is powered
by Android lollipop and makes use of
Android TV functions shown off at Google
i/o earlier this year including a TV
optimized Play Store interface content
based search functions and a gaming
platform content also syncs across all
your Android devices so you can start a
movie on your TV and finish it on your
tablet thanks for watching Android are

with you right here on Google+ or
