hey everybody I'm Chris look over here
checking out the droid ultra in New York
while the smaller motorola droid mini is
safely tucked into its own niche the
droid ultra and the droid maxx are
fighting it out to see who's going to be
top dog and the way it looks right now
they both got some fairly convincing
arguments like the max the droid ultra
has a 5-inch 720p screen and most of the
hardware is the same but there are a few
big differences actually make that small
while the ultra and the max look very
similar and share the same Kevlar build
the ultra is both thinner and lighter at
just 7.2 millimeters thick compared to
the max at eight and a half millimeters
thick as I said the rest of the hardware
is nearly identical each phone in this
new droid lineup has two gigs of ram 16
gigs of internal storage a 10 megapixel
rear facing camera and a 2-megapixel
front-facing camera the camera uses
clear pixel technology allowing more
unfiltered light to assist low-light
photography the real day-to-day work in
this phone is handled by the motorola x8
mobile computing system which uses two
cores to handle general application
tasks for cores for graphics one core
for sensors or contextual computing and
one for natural language processing
while it is the thinnest and lightest
this comes at a trade-off for battery
life with the ultra only having a 2130
milliamp hour battery compared to the
Max's 3,500 milliamp hour battery the
ultra will run you 199 with the contract
and like the other new droids is
available for pre-order right now with
the phone starting to ship on august
