we've known about Sonia's lens units
that are supposed to attach to Xperia
smartphones but what if I told you that
they can be attached to non Sony phones
as well
hey it's Joshua gar from Android 30
what's going on everybody and here is
your first look at the Sony qx10 zé's
they're different arguably innovative
and certainly an interesting development
sony has strived to make their digital
imaging second to none and in the Xperia
z1 that started with the 20 point seven
megapixel G lens however not willing to
stop there they wanted to make all
smartphone photography as good as
compact digital photography and that's
where the Q X line comes in to lens
units the QX 10 and 100 provide fuller
camera capabilities to any phone they
attach to what we thought might just
attached to the Xperia smartphone via
context actually connects to any NFC or
Wi-Fi direct enabled phone one touch
control as Sony puts it allows the Q X
lens to just tap the back of a
smartphone and become the lens for it
you can even see it here being attached
to an iPhone simply attach the bracket
turn on the NFC on the lens tap and then
attach the lens to the bracket now you
have a humongous growth coming out of
your phone that takes great photos the Q
X 100 features a high-quality one-inch
20.2 exmor r CMOS sensor that will give
you a 3.6 times optical zoom along with
plenty of manual controls the QX 10 on
the other hand will give you a 10 times
optical zoom through 8 and 18 point 2
megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor one detail
that we thought was interesting was that
after they are paired the lenses are
connected within a range of the
smartphone it doesn't have to remain on
the back of the phone which could open
up some creative scenarios for avid
photographers while the QX 10 at this
display was actually a dummy unit the Q
X 100 was very much real and felt
adequately lightweight and when on the
back of the Xperia z1 it does balance
out the phone for more camera asked
shooting it will take a little bit to
get used to that's for certain
but for anyone who wants to truly
enhance their smartphone photography
this may be one of the best and most
unique ways to do so we'll likely get
our hands on one at some point and we'll
see what kind of picture quality the QX
line produces until then keep it tuned
to Android Authority as we bring you
more from Aoife in Berlin
