ZTE Quartz Hands-on: Android Wear 2 for under $200!
ZTE Quartz Hands-on: Android Wear 2 for under $200!
2017-04-10
so Android wear 2.0 is slowly being
rolled out to existing smartwatches but
when it comes to new models we're still
waiting for the next batch to come
around GT on the other hand just
announced its first wearable for the US
market and it's quite surprising given
how other players in the space have been
relatively silent about making Android
wear 2.0 watches now the ZTE quartz
might look chunky and cooked cutter at
first glance but don't want to fool you
just because GT is being aggressive
about its price point so yeah it's
seriously undercutting the competition
especially when you put it against the
LG watch sport which has an MSRP of $349
when you look at the quartz spec sheet
it really does match the LG watch sport
in many areas like its Qualcomm
Snapdragon wear 2100 chipset you have a
400 by 400 resolution to display quoting
Gorilla Glass 3 768 megabytes of RAM and
4 gigabytes of internal storage frankly
the court doesn't have nearly the same
level elegance or lore as other Android
web 2.0 smartwatches first of all it's
pretty chunky looking so if you have a
small wrist
it might look out of place however the
decision for thicker chassis does allow
the courts to accommodate a higher
capacity 500 milliamp hour battery that
ensures it's going to be able to handle
all day independent usage without the
worry of running out of juice still it
doesn't have the same premium look and
feel as its rivals well be included
wrist strap is you're a typical rubbery
texture of one you can easily replace it
with any others and honestly we really
weren't expecting anything ornate with
the strap taking into consideration its
price and all what's surprising though
is that ZTE opted to not have a heart
rate sensor which of course helps to
lessen its price point but some people
might be disappointed by this moving on
to the screen the 1.4 inch AMOLED
display looks detailed and crisp and the
things can handle outdoor visibility ok
and lastly the biggest takeaway for the
courts is that it features built-in
cellular radios that allow its function
independently from your smartphone
now this noise if you want to leave your
phone behind say like going on the hike
or something since you can still make
phone calls through it so even though
it's not the most stylish or premium
SmartWatch out there there's still lots
to consider
when you look at its $192 price that's
pretty aggressive when you think about
it because it's cellular enabled out of
the box and has similar specs to that of
the elk you watch sport so would you
guys buy it even at one hundred ninety
two dollars you guys won't learn more
