look great right I don't have a mallet oh I'm sure there are plenty of occasions where you have needed a microphone but didn't have one for whatever reason how about I show you how to use your headphones instead this is a very simple trick you can use when you're in a bind and you need a microphone fast all you need is a pair of ordinary headphones such as these studio monitors I have here and a computer as most of you know there are two nearly identical ports on most computers a line in and a line out the line out is where you plug your headphones or speakers in and the line in is where you can plug in an external microphone plug your headphones into the line and port okay guys so as you can see it does work so now you can hear me now you can again so of course the quality isn't fantastic and it will depend on what kind of headphones you're using but in a pinch it will work this works very simply at their core headphones and a microphone part of the same way by plugging headphones into a microphone port and talking into them you are simply reversing how they normally work so that they are generating an electric current which comes out as sound on your computer instead of it working the other way around so there you go that's how to use your headphones as a microphone if you enjoyed feel free to subscribe to my channel anyway thanks for watching
