welcome to Timbuktu this is San Francisco's second largest manufacturer and in this factory they're all about custom bags we are going to follow the process of making a custom bag all the way through until it's ready to get sent out the whole process takes about 18 minutes but don't worry we're going to do it in around two so come with me and let's see how it all works this factory produces 70,000 custom bags every year each bag starts life in this room all of the fabric is cut by hand as the pieces are small so caddy now we have the pieces cut what's the next step so we came over here choose a classic messenger bag that you chose in the medium size we pull out the panels I love this washed canvas that you chose an amazing fabric that breaks down over time so we'll pick out your panel then you also picked up this really great reflective paisley print that will put down the middle from here an embroidery machine stitches the logo onto the fabric then bag panels are sent to a double needle machine where they're stitched together at the next station the bags inside liner is added depending on how you configure the bag a laptop sleeve water bottle holder and internal pockets can be installed the crossbody strap is attached and binding is applied to keep everything together labels and exterior rings are added then the bag is turned inside out and it's ready to go the finished bag is wrapped and put into the shipping container for export
