it's a Chromebook but bigger I'm Dan
Ackerman here at CES 2015 with the Acer
Chromebook 15 this is as far as we could
tell the first Chromebook with a 15-inch
display we've previously seen plenty of
systems that use Google's Chrome OS and
11 inch screens and 13 inch screens even
a 14 inch or two but never before and
something as big as this now what is
Chrome well that's a simplified
operating system from Google that's
basically just the Chrome web browser
and it's meant for use with online tools
and cloud-based tools not a lot of
things you can do locally on the
computer when it's offline but if what
you do is mostly online stuff like email
and social media then a Chromebook can
certainly make a lot of sense and cost a
lot less than regular laptops this guy
resides having a larger screen you can
get it with a full HD screen in 1920 by
1080 although there's also a
less-expensive 1366 by 768 display
available and more interestingly it's
the first Chromebook that we've seen
that uses Intel's new Broadwell
generation of processors this uses a a
Broadwell Celeron processor but I
suspect that more upscale like core i3
CPUs will be coming at some point in the
future but for right now you get the new
Broadwell Celeron and the 1366 by 768
display later in January in the US for
only 249 dollars I'm Dan Ackerman and
that is the Acer Chromebook 15
