oh my the new version of Android has
arrived codenamed Android oh the mobile
operating system gets updates to battery
life more control over notifications and
a picture-in-picture mode like Android
nougat before it Android Oh wants to
squeeze as much juice out of your
battery as possible when you've launched
an app that aren't actively using it or
will limit what that apps doing to
conserve power less updating of things
like location in the background means
more battery life a feature called
notification channels will let apps
bundle up notifications so you can
manage them all in one go now these
features are all well and good but the
big question is what does the O stand
for previous versions of Android have
all been named after something sweet
think nougat marshmallow KitKat
Gingerbread and so on Hiroshi lock Homer
the senior vice president of Android
likes to have a little bit of fun with
the name guessing game his tweeted some
not so cryptic references to Oreo and if
you're thinking even further ahead to
Android pee well here's got an idea for
that too but what about oatmeal cookie
Ovaltine O'Henry
orange cake or maybe it will just be a
standalone Oh like the Cirque du Soleil
show developers can flash the devices
now to get a preview before everyone
else it's likely a public beta for Nexus
and pixel devices will follow soon
expect to hear more details at Google
