forget Oreo today Android is brought to
you by the letter P Google announced a
developer preview of the next iteration
of its mobile operating system called
Android P one of the more major shifts
in the software is Google's nod to the
notch this version of Android caters to
that little cut out you've seen on the
iPhone 10 but for upcoming Android
handsets like the ascend phone 5 aside
from making way for notches this
Developer Preview upgrades notifications
you'll see images and notifications now
and smart replies will be available as
well there's also indoor mapping to
complement Google Maps which should come
in handy if you're at an unfamiliar
venue or Airport and need to find a
specific location other updates include
better support for third-party password
managers restricting camera and
microphone access in apps if they're
running in the background and increased
battery life one of the biggest
questions surrounding new Android
updates is always when will mind on
Google device get this update
unfortunately fragmentation is Google's
constant foe with just 1.1 percent of
Android users on its most recent update
Oreo and 81 percent on the three
versions before that look
but I guess them's the breaks when you
want out of a walled garden there's also
the question of the name that P will be
replaced with an official moniker that's
desert themed at some point
could it be pumpkin pie peanut brittle
parfait panna cotta or my personal guess
popsicle drop your guests down in the
comments we'll be keeping an eye on
