Apple, Samsung, LG respond to WikiLeaks dump

Apple Samsung and LG have all responded to the WikiLeaks vault 7 data dump WikiLeaks released thousands of documents it claims show secret CIA hacking tools for commonly used devices like smartphones connected TVs and more while cnet is unable as of yet to verify whether the documents are real or have been altered some of Tech's biggest companies have responded Apple released the statement saying quote while our initial analysis indicates that many of the issues leaked today we're already patched in the latest iOS we will continue work to rapidly address any identified vulnerabilities we always urge customers to download the latest iOS to make sure they have the most recent security updates unquote LG reiterated its digital privacy efforts stating quote we are completely committed to working with other industry players to make sure that consumers are protected to the fullest extent that today's technology will allow unquote samsung also commented saying quote protecting consumers privacy and the security of our devices is a top priority at Samsung we are aware of the report in question and are urgently looking into the matter unquote when asked for comment a Microsoft spokesman said the company was aware of the report and was looking into it Google and Motorola declined to comment as of midday march eight regardless of the veracity of the documents it may cause an even more strained relationship between law enforcement tech companies and us as end users who rely on secure devices every day we'll be posting additional updates on the vault 7 story as they come in so stay tuned at cnet com for more information I'm Ashley escada be good humans
