Apple ordered to stop selling iPhone 6, 6 Plus in Beijing (CNET Update)
2016-06-17
the Apple iPhone has more trouble in
China this time a Beijing regulator has
told Apple it can no longer sell the
iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 plus in the city
the regulator says those models of
iPhone run afoul of a patent held by
Shenzhen by Lee that patent relates to
the exterior design of the company's
100c smartphone the 100 C and the iPhone
6 do resemble each other there both
phones dominated by a touchscreen with
rounded corners the ear speakers also
share a similar design the intellectual
property office said the Apple iPhone 6
and iPhone 6 plus have minor differences
from by Lee's 100c the differences are
so tiny that the average customer could
not notice so this case falls into the
patent rights protection category what
kind of impact will this order have
while some Beijing stores have already
stopped selling the iPhone 6 and 6-plus
favoring the newer 6s and 6s plus the
order also seems odd since the iPhone 6
and 6s are virtually identical what's
the difference between these two models
and s on the back there's one more color
available on the iPhone 6s that's not a
lot from a visual standpoint Beijing had
a population of 11.5 1 million people as
of the year 2000 unofficial estimates
say the population now is more like 20
million people reportedly Apple has
already appealed the band which would
keep the phones on sale in Beijing for
the time being that's it for this tech
