I'm David karna an executive editor for cnet.com and I'm here with the audio technica ath WS fifty five solid bass headphones these are in over the ear model they are a little bit more compact than your typical over-the-air model Audio Technica does make some very good over the year models the a th M 30s for instance or the ATH M 50s which are our editor's choice these are somewhere in between they're a little bit less than $100 and they're very good value in terms of sound quality they really do deliver a lot of bass without sacrificing any performance in the mid-range or the trouble so an all-around well-balanced model there also seem pretty well built they have a little bit of aluminum on their ear cups and this has a dual core design those cores are pretty thick but not as thick as some of the single chords on other audio technica models these can be used for mobile use they do seal out a good amount of sound from the outside world they do offer a tight seal however for some people that still may be a little bit too tight the one drawback to this model is they just aren't super comfortable for whatever reason whether it's because the ear cups are a little bit smaller or the padding isn't just quite enough but these aren't the greatest comfort headphones out there and you may have to adjust them a little bit on your ears every five to ten minutes to get a more comfortable fit aside from that the only other small detail worth mentioning is they do have an l-shaped plug it's a little more durable than a straight plug as far as extra features go you really don't get anything extra there is a step up model that has an eye in its name it has an integrated microphone and remote that is a Japan import model however so it's a little bit hard to find that cost a little bit more there also is a ws 70 model it's a little bit Swank you're looking as I said at least in terms of sound quality these do offer excellent bang for the buck some people may have a little bit of an issue with their comfort but some people may not I'm David Carr oh and those are the audio technica ath ws 55 solid bass headphones thanks for watching
