Google's offering is about to change
starting on June 28th Google is
launching its backup and sync app for
desktops google says backup and sync is
the latest version of Google Drive from
Mac and PC and it is integrated with
Google Photos desktop uploader here's a
Google Drive for Mac and PC works now
you install the Google Drive app on your
computer which was a new Google Drive
folder on your machine then any files
you put in that folder syncs up with
Google Drive anything you add to Google
Drive online appears in that folder as
well google photos backup can
automatically upload photos and videos
from whatever desktop folders you pick
back up and sync will work more like the
Google Photos app you get to choose
which folder or folders to backup to
Google Drive instead of just having to
be one predefined by Google the new tool
should make it a lot easier to fill up
your Google Drive
if you've got lots and lots of files you
want to backup Google Drive offers 15
gigabytes of storage for free there are
a number of paid options starting with
100 gigabytes for two dollars per month
ranging all the way up to a 30 terabyte
option for $300 per month for more
