everyone's obsessed consult words from
peanut here at CES 2013 in Las Vegas
this is your very first look at corning
willow glass this is actually a bendable
glass that we will see in application
soon so things such as smartphones
tablets laptops one application is
actually as a wraparound display so it
can wrap around a smartphone for example
or even conform to the curves of peanuts
boots here at CES that is one very
possible application so this is
extremely light and thin it looks like
plastic right now because the glass is
actually on the inside and it's covered
with this plastic laminate but it is
actually the width of the business card
that's 0.1 millimeter thin now this is
not to be confused with Corning Gorilla
Glass which is a different type of cover
glass that is meant to protect the
surface as the outside of a smartphone
for example we are going to see this
glass most is actually going to be on
the inside underneath layers of phone so
optimized for touch screens now Corrine
just announced the product this past
June they're going to start mass
production in the second half of 2013
you can expect to start seeing devices
using this flexible willow glass in the
early part of 2014 they're made
I've got a developer for Tina you can
catch all of our CSU I've seen it
