Better than Touch ID? Check out Vkansee's optical fingerprint scanner
2015-03-04
here's the problem the fingerprint
scanner on your smartphone might
actually be easy to spoon I've got
skazala court for cnet here at Mobile
World Congress 2015 in Barcelona and
beacon c is the company that thinks it
has a solution to capacitive sensor that
might be on your smartphone's
fingerprint scanner can only capture 500
pixels to read your fingerprint that
isn't very accurate and it's nothing
that the government would actually use
during immigration so this company
vacancy has come up with a demo of a
device that uses the same powerful
optics that the government does but in a
much smaller form factor that will fit
phones to give you a very short
demonstration I will put my finger on
the sensor which will collect the
information at two thousand pixels much
much more than your phone and it goes
right down to the sweat pours my finger
can be clean or dirty or wet or
completely dry and it will work there
are no commercial products with this
chip yet but there are plenty of patents
in place and it is something that we
could see in smartphones and tablets
coming up soon I've got to get all court
for CNN you can find out much more about
this product and others from over world
congress internet com
you
