connectors Apple has a history of
dropping ports remember the iPod 30-pin
dock connector how about having a
regular USB port on a laptop so when a
report comes out that says Apple will
use a new connector that will work with
some of its products people justifiably
freak out however everybody stay calm
here's what's really happening
nine-to-five Mac reporter Apple will
support something called the ultra
accessory connector for devices in
Apple's made for iPhone certification
program the ultra accessory connector or
UAC would be an 8-pin connector there's
a little thinner than USBC people read
that to mean Apple is coming up with yet
another proprietary connector and
perhaps Apple will replace lightning or
USB seaports already so we reached out
to Apple to find out what exactly is
going on
Apple told CNS that this new connector
was not new at all and has been around
for years you may have seen it uncertain
Nikon cameras the ultra accessory
connector name is actually the new thing
Fox link calls it you see e6 while
another company calls it the ultra mini
connector to boil it down the news is
Apple will support devices like a
lightning to UIC or USB a tu AC adapter
