Congress fights digital bombs Apple
stock soars and note lights it up I'm
Bridget Carey and this is your signet
update there's a new controversial
cybersecurity law up for a vote this
week and it has many concerned about
privacy rights the bill is called sista
which is short for Cyber Intelligence
Sharing and protection act it's designed
to give Homeland Security more resources
to better track down and fight cyber
terrorists but some say his powers are
too broad giving the government the
ability to snoop through medical records
private emails online financial
documents all without a warrant or
limits and there's a new proposed
amendment that would give the Homeland
Security Secretary Janet Napolitano the
ability to bonner all government
networks and communication this would
trump the existing privacy and
surveillance laws the debate begins on
the house for Thursday and voting takes
place Friday Apple posted earnings that
were better than expected with record
sales of iphones and ipads big surprise
i know Apple's first quarter earnings
went up for almost six billion last year
to more than 11 billion iphone sales

million iPhones and increase from nearly
19 million last year this is the first
full quarter the new iphone 4s has been
on sale and it also is in more countries
and ipad sales also went up from nearly
5 million this time last year to almost
12 million now but Apple won't say how
many of those were the new third
generation model Apple announced the
dates for its Worldwide Developers
Conference and in two hours it sold out

between mobile and desktop are starting

event followed by Google's developer
