whether you're traveling without a data
plan or entering a dead zone it's a good
idea to save Google Maps for offline
access the process is simple and works
the same for both iOS and Android so
let's say you're planning a trip where
you know you won't have service first
launched Google Maps and find the map
area that you want to save when you're
there
tap the search bar and scroll down until
you see save map to use offline tap that
now make any last-minute adjustments by
zooming in and panning to the specific
area you want to save if the area is too
large
Google Maps will tell you when your set
hit save at the bottom give the map a
name hit save again and within seconds
your map will be available offline now
you can't use that map to get directions
or find landmarks but you can still use
it like an old paper map to find your
way around the city if you need to
easily find your saved map tap the
profile icon from the main screen and go
all the way down to offline maps here
tap a saved map to view it or hit view
and manage to rename delete or update
any maps you've saved maps are
automatically deleted after 30 days so
repeat this process if you want a map to
remain available after that time with
your Google maps offline you'll know
exactly where you're going even when
you're off the grid if you have any
