2015-04-09
Apple has added support for a Vulcan
salute emoji you know the one made
famous by Spock on Star Trek in iOS 8.3
however you won't find it in the emoji
section of the iPhone iPad keyboard but
it's not that hard to manually add it to
your device you must first update your
iPhone or iPad to iOS version 8.3 this
can be done by going to settings
clicking on general and selecting
software update now you first have to
find the emoji I made it easy for you
and included a link to it in my article
all you have to do is copy it to your
iPhone or iPad then head over to the iOS
settings menu click general followed by
keyboards and select shortcuts then tap
the plus icon at the top and paste the
emoji in the phrase section this can be
done with a double tap or a long press
on the screen directly below that you
will also want to add a shortcut I chose
ll ap for a live long and prosper
then all you have to do is click Save
now the next time you send a text
message type the shortcut you set and
the Vulcan salute emoji will appear but
only iOS users on version 8.3 will be
able to see it sorry Android owners for
more how-to like this one be sure to
