iOS 9 wants to make sure you get more
out of your battery than ever before
here are three battery saving features
you can use right now it's time to make
friends with the battery menu by heading
to settings and battery if you know
you'll be a long time between charges
turn on low power mode by toggling the
switch this stops things that eat up
battery life like email fetch background
apps refreshing as well as animations
when you're using low power mode the
battery icon changes color so you know
it's active also when your battery
reaches twenty percent iOS 9 prompts you
to activate this mode the second battery
saving feature is determined by your
device orientation normally when you get
a push notification the screen lights up
to let you know but if you put your
phone on the table face down the screen
won't light up when the notification
comes through you still hear
notifications if you have volume or
vibration turned on the third feature is
usage also in the settings menu this
list shows you what's using the most
battery so you can close or even
uninstall battery hogging apps tap
anywhere on the list for a breakdown of
the time spent on screen and any
background data the app is used this
feature was also in iOS 8 but not as
easy to find that's a quick look at some
of the new battery saving features for
