CNET How To - Delete your Echo voice data from Amazon's servers

2015-02-02
like most other voice based personal assistants Amazon echo stores your voice data on its servers in order to improve its voice recognition but not everybody is okay with that so luckily there are two ways you can delete that data the first way to do it is on a case-by-case basis so head on over to the Amazon echo app then in the sidebar go to settings and then history here you'll see a list of all of the voice commands you've set to echo and you can delete any one of them by tapping on it and then hitting delete voice recordings and it's gone the second way to do it is to delete all that data in one fell swoop you'll have to go over to amazon.com / myx sign in with the same account you use for echo and then click your devices select Amazon echo then hit manage voice recordings and here hit delete unfortunately there's no way to prevent Amazon from saving any future recordings so you'll have to stay on top of it if you want to protect your privacy for more Amazon echo quick tips head on over to cnet.com slash 4c net I'm Sharon Profis you
