a new feature in iOS 8 uses your
location to determine if there's a
nearby business with an iOS app in the
App Store if an app is relevant based on
your current location it will recommend
the app on your lock screen or in the
app switcher for example when you're
near Starbucks you'll notice a small
Starbucks app icon in the lower left
corner of your lock screen touching it
and sliding up the icon don't either
launch the app on your device
or take you to the App Store where you
can download it although this feature is
enabled by default it takes only a few
seconds to turn it off go into the
settings and click on iTunes and App
Store from the list of options at the
bottom of the page you will find two
switches my apps and App Store the first
one allows for alerts for apps you
currently have installed while the other
alerts you about apps from the App Store
slide one or both switches to the off
position based on your personal taste
