hey guys Jason Cipriani here AC know how to you contributor and today we're going to take a look at how to hide the newsstand icon on your iOS device you'll need to be running iOS 5 or higher as well as download this free Mac or Windows app from this website once you have that app installed and running you'll need to connect your iOS device to your computer the app will let you know when a device is not connected go ahead and connect your device you'll see the device name show up and click on hide newsstand now there is some bugs and it doesn't always work on the first try so this is one of my numerous attempts to reconnect my device and finally hopefully we can get it there we go now the new Stan icon is turned into a folder that is titled magic and as you'll see that new Stan icon is within that folder now one thing you'll notice is the icon doesn't show a preview in the folder because essentially we're a folder within a folder now you're not going to see the icon but when you tap on it you will see the icon in there you could treat this as a normal folder you could rename it move the icons around load it up with a whole bunch of other icons and there you have it make sure to visit us at how-to cnet.com
