2014-10-30
a recent software update to the Roku 3 and Roku streaming stick has enabled a new feature that lets you mirror your Android device to your TV the feature is currently only available as a beta feature in the US and the UK to get started you will need to enable screen mirroring in the Roku settings from the left navigation bar click on settings followed by screen mirroring and enable it your Android device must be running version 4.4.2 or later to work and it should be connected to the same network as your Roku you can check the network your Roku is connected to in the network section of the settings menu to begin mirroring on your stock Android device go to settings click on display followed by cast screen then tap the Menu button and check the enable wireless display box your Roku should now appear in the cast screens section if it doesn't back out to the settings and reopen the cast screen option once you see your Roku box or stick simply tap it to connect now whatever you see on your mobile device is exactly what will be displayed on your TV the method is slightly different on devices from Samsung HTC LG and other Android manufacturers but you should find a screen mirroring option in the settings menu or display sub settings some apps like Netflix and HBO GO can also be projected to your screen similar to how the chromecast does it simply tap the cast icon in the top right corner of compatible apps for more information be sure to check out my full article on how to Delfina calm you can also reach out to me on Twitter with any questions or comments I'm Dan Rossi I've seen it thanks for watching
