prior to iOS 8 double tapping the home
button would open the app switching menu
here you could close running apps or
quickly switch to a different one but
with the latest version of iOS Apple has
placed small avatars of your recent and
favorite contacts at the top of the menu
clicking on the Avatar gives you a quick
way to call message or FaceTime your
contacts the new feature is convenient
but not for everyone
luckily there is a way to disable it
launch the Settings app and select mail
contacts calendar from the list of
options scroll down to the contacts
section and select show an app switcher
from here you can disable your recent
contacts favorites or both from showing
up in the app switcher with a toggle of
a switch it's as easy as that for more
