it's hard to imagine at a time that you
need help so badly you can't file
emergency services on your own even so
Samsung has built a tool into the galaxy
aside just in case it's called safety
assistance and after setting it up
triple pressing the power button will
send a series of text messages to your
emergency contact you'll see
approximately where you are what the
scene looks like and here a short voice
recording I'm Jessica Volkert from CNN
and this is how you get started first
head into the quick settings portion of
the phone settings menu select safety
assistant then tap send help messages
for best results you'll want to make
sure that the box is for send pictures
and send sound recording or checked then
exit out and choose the option manage
primary contacts here you can add up to
four emergency contacts for close family
members and friends in case of an
emergency three quick presses to the
power button will cause your phone to
vibrate on your end you'll see a
notification that the s5 sent your SOS
messages each recipient will receive
texts with a link to your coordinates a
photo from the front camera and one from
the back and a short recording if you're
able to leave a message this automated
text SOS isn't going to replace the
police or the ambulance and since it
does rely on text messages there could
always be a slight delay it's one of
those tools you hope you're never ever
going to have to use but it doesn't hurt
to set up for a little extra peace of
mind I'm Jessica's all-court for CNN you

tricks from Samsung Galaxy s5 at how
