the transit we provide a map that emphasizes all of the different transit lines buses and trains subway stations and so forth and when you tap on a station you can see all the lines that run through it with their departure times and we do multimodal routing using them whether you're taking a train a subway a bus or ferry and we provide step-by-step directions including time for walking directions we've taken special care to get the details right the ones that matter with transit for instance if you take a subway station like this one in Columbus Circle in New York it's not just a point on a map if you look closer it's actually an enormous underground structure spanning many city blocks and so we carefully surveyed all of the entrances and exits so that we could give you walking directions based on the time to travel from where you actually are now this not only saves you a ton of walking but it also probably is the difference between catching your train on time and being stuck really great and we've taught Siri all about transit so it's effortless to ask Siri for directions and we're going to be rolling maps out transit starting with these cities across the world and with these and 300 more in China
