HTC has unveiled its newest android smartphone the HTC One m8 the latest competitor to the iphone 5s and the samsung galaxy s5 with the HTC One m8 you just hold the ringing phone right up to your ear and it answers the call automatically the new HTC One is going to be slightly larger with a 5-inch screen instead of a 4.7 inch screen the back camera features a second lens that adds some depth to photos while the front camera will snap selfies that are sharper than ever on the front it is very noticeable because you've got a 5 megapixel camera another notable feature lets you choose which part of a picture you want to be sharpest and in focus after you've taken the photo you can refocus the shot on anyone in the frame with just a tap but the phone is missing some of the bells and whistles offered by its main competitors Samsung has put in the first heart rate monitor that I've ever seen on a smartphone and it is also incorporated a fingerprint scanner so is it worth switching from the iphone or galaxy line we don't have really any physical hardware object that makes this but it phone it's just really nicely done somebody who's looking for a metal phone it boils down to Android or iOS and competition will be even stiffer come fall when apple is expected to release the iphone 6 in San Francisco I'm Sumi das Cena for CBS News
