before you pop that berry into your
mouth you might want to check to find
out if it's poisonous the handy app
leave snap can help you do that after
you download and install the free app
onto your iPhone or iPad you can search
an extensive photo collection of leaves
flowers and fruit to learn more about a
specific tree or perhaps you encounter
an unknown species in the wild snap a
photo and submit it for identification
right now the database is limited but is
expected to expand to cover the entire
continental US there are several good
apps out there for researching bird
species but I like Peterson birds of
North America this iphone and ipad app
gives you access to its database of over
800 species of birds on this continent
budding ornithologist will enjoy the
beautiful color illustrations while
uploading their own photos of locally
found birds between these two apps
spending time outside get a lot more
interesting and techy in San Francisco
