this is your cnet update nvidia has
raised another shield to stream android
games the new product is called the
Nvidia shield tablet which has an 8-inch
screen and it works with a controller
sold separately it connects to your TV
to be this new type of gaming hybrid
merging the worlds of tablets and
television consoles for gaming on the go
last year and Vidya came up with a
smaller version of this concept it was
simply called the Nvidia shield and it
was a video game controller attached to
a small screen the new shield tablet
offers gaming with more flexibility to
just use it as a tablet it's built with
top-of-the-line hardware including dual
speakers and two high-end cameras a
tucked-in stylus and of course it has
great graphics for gaming it starts at
three hundred dollars for the tablet and
the controller is another sixty dollars
it arrives in the US next week on
tuesday july twenty ninth and it'll roll
out to other countries soon after this
isn't the first time a company has tried
to create a gaming tablet last year
razer cooked up a tablet that could pop
into a case with controller buttons on
handles it's called the razer edge it
also has a TV docking station so you can
use it with more traditional game
controllers but unlike Nvidia's android
tablet razer edge is a fully loaded
windows 8 machine like a surface tablet
so it costs much more it starts at a
thousand dollars in other news netflix
reported it has surpassed 50 million
subscribers one new sign that netflix is
becoming mainstream gift cards yes you
soon will be seen Netflix gift cards in
select stores hulu also sells gift cards
at retail and for those of you on
Netflix that have some guilty pleasure
shows like maybe your friends would
tease you if they knew what you watched
well there's a new feature Netflix is
testing out to keep what you stream a
secret a new privacy mode keeps the
program from appearing in your recently
viewed activity log and what you watch
will not be used to determine
recommendations about
what you may want to watch in the future
also in the world of streaming if you
want to watch TV from anywhere check out
the new affordable slingbox m1 it
