CNET Update - PS Vita TV is Sony's new spin on streaming

Sony has a new type of streaming box for
gaming I'm Bridget Carey and this is
your CNET update Sony unveiled a new
device for your television that streams
movies shows and games it's the PS Vita
TV and this small box plays PS Vita
games you just need a Playstation
DualShock 3 controller to operate it it
has a slot for Vita games and it also
includes a USB port Bluetooth one gig of
internal storage Wi-Fi and an Ethernet
port this box can also stream games from
a nearby PlayStation or it'll stream
video services like Hulu there was no US
launch date given yet it arrives in
Japan on November 14th and it cost about
$100 this is an interesting product
because we are seeing more streaming
video game devices but none that offer
PlayStation quality games streaming both
video and games is an area ripe for
growth even Apple is looking into plain
app games on the TV Sony also showed off
a new version of the Vita handheld
console it's called the PSP 2 mm it's
20% thinner 15% lighter and comes with 1
gig of on-board storage and it also
comes in 6 different colors sony also
says it improved the battery life it's
first going on sale in Japan in October
priced at around 200 dollars which is
the same as what the current version
costs if you're in the market for a
tablet or a new PC you might want to
hang tight for a few weeks
Microsoft is announcing new versions of
the surface tablet on the morning of
Monday September 23rd in New York City
we're expecting these upgraded versions
to go on sale when Windows 8.1 launches
on October 18th and right before Apple
launches iTunes music Microsoft
announced Xbox music is now available as
an app for iOS and Android devices and
it's also available for free streaming
on the web the music service was
previously only available for Windows
users and through the Xbox 360 for $10 a
month the Xbox music Pass gives apt
listener
access to 30 million songs the free web
version comes with ads the next time
