Cambridge Audio TV5 is a decent soundbase choice

2015-04-15
in the past 12 months the number of Sam based speakers on the market has exploded now most AV companies offer a version of the TV supporting speaker in Cambridge Audio is adding its new TV 5 to the throng this is a $400 sound base which offers fairly basic design but comes with these unique drivers these are balanced mode radiators which are a hybrid of traditional woofers and flat panel speakers there are two of these at the front of the cabinet and they're supported by a pair of 6.5 inch subwoofers underneath the cabin is quite large compared to some cheaper units and will support TVs up to about 70 pounds there are minimal controls on the unit which is disappointing but the remote control is quite good so that almost makes up for it compared against our favorite sound based speakers the Cambridge Audio is good but not quite great part of the reason behind this is that it lacks tone controls meaning bass can be a little weak and treble a little too strong and it also misses out on Dolby or DTS decoding which makes it less suited to watching blu-rays or DVDs sound quality is generally very good though with a very detailed sound which suits movie dialogue all the songs of singer-songwriters if you live in the UK where you can't buy the Pioneer SPS b03 sound base this is a pretty good alternative this is ty Pendlebury 15 o clock
