hi I'm Josh Goldman senior editor CNET
and if you're one of the many that
actually value having double-a batteries
power your camera you should check out
canon powershot sx1 6d is it's a
budget-friendly compact mega zoom that
does more than just point and shoot up
front is a 16 X zoom lens with optical
image stabilization in back is a decent
3-inch LCD in some large well spaced and
labeled controls it's 16 megapixel
sensor is good enough for capturing nice
shots for sharing online or small prints
but you want to make sure you have
plenty of light to take advantage of
that zoom handheld considering its price
and shooting options though it's better
than expected those options include semi
manual and manual shooting modes giving
you more control over results than you
typically find below $200 you get
several of canons creative filters and
it's live view control for easily
adjusting brightness color and tone and
720p HD movie capture at the press of a
button and while I wouldn't recommend it
for regularly shooting fast-moving
subjects it's not painfully slow either
which hasn't been uncommon with this
class of camera so again if you want the
convenience of double A batteries this
is one of the better options available
I'm Josh Goldman and that's a quick look
at the canon powershot sx1 16
