hi I'm Josh Goldman with CNET and this
is a look at canons compact 30x zoom the
Powershot SX 510 HS now if you follow
canons cameras closely you might be
saying yourself self I've seen that
before and you'd be right it's basically
the same camera as last year's SX 500 is
same lens same body many of the same
features Canon did however update the
sensor from a lower-end CCD type sensor
to one of its high sensitivity 12
megapixel BSI CMOS sensors the sensor
gives it better overall photo quality
but especially in low-light performance
and enables the camera to record video
at 1080p 24 frames per second again the
rest of the camera is pretty much the
same although you do get Wi-Fi in this
model and you still get lots of shooting
options including full manual and manual
controls the 3-inch LCD is good and the
grip has this nice notch out so you can
get a good hold on it and to help you
with your framing when you're using the
zoom there's this button on the side of
the lens that shoots the lens back so
you can find your subject and then zoom
back in all in all not a bad package if
you're doing your shooting outdoors and
your subjects aren't looking too fast
I'm Josh Goldman and that's the Canon
Powershot SX 510 HS
