the renegade is all new and really small
putting jeeps squarely in the urban
compact crossover market but with real
off-road ability especially in this
top-of-the-line trailhawk edition it's
hard to mistake for any other car on the
outside and thanks to lots of winks and
nods to its own past the same goes for
the inside this six and a half inch
UConnect system is a modern head unit
with garmin navigation it's all touch
and voice driven there's no big knob or
controller to select or type things
under the hood our high trim trailhawk
version has the big engine and even
that's only 2.4 liters and four
cylinders does 180 horsepower and 175
pound feet of torque through a
nine-speed automatic only average mpg is
24 in addition to blind spot technology
you can also optional renegade with
forward collision technology that will
actively break for you and active lane
departure technology that will steer you
back in your lane those are unusual in
this class I wish I like driving the
renegade as much as I like looking at it
but the powertrain is rubbery and vague
surging between bursts of power and
bursts of numbness an option I wish our
car arrived with is this unusual sunroof
it powers back like most others but you
can also pop it completely out get a
great big hole to the sky none up cnet
style this top-of-the-line trail rated
renegade trailhawk is just under 30k
with its combo of jeep brand real
four-wheel drive and good if Corki looks
they shouldn't be sitting on the lock
belong
