hey m3 fans get ready to whistle a new tune it's m4 now it's the m4 coupe right behind me BMW just introduced it at the 2014 detroit auto show this is actually not just a coupe version of the prior m3 they completely redid both the m3 which is now just a sedan and the m4 which is just a coupe BMW ditched the four liter v8 in those cars and has gone to a smaller displacement three litre straight-six in these new cars but it has twin turbos for an output of 425 horsepower 406 pound-feet of torque they also used a lot of aluminium and carbon fiber reinforced plastic in this new model to shave off weight they've shed about 175 pounds so that will improve the handling and improve the performance this new m4 coupe can be had with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission BMWs DCT or a six-speed manual transmission now you might want to get the DCT because you shave out point two seconds from your 0 to 60 time in the cabin you get all of BMWs latest cabin electronics they've got of course the standard LCD on the dashboard and a new version of the idrive controller which actually has a touch surface controller too and this includes app connectivity and Google search for navigation whether you get the m4 or the m3 both look like they'll be very good performance vehicles I'm actually excited about BMW again after seeing these cards I'm wearing cunningham here at the 2014 detroit auto ship
