Clear your Google Web History before the big privacy change
2012-02-24
hey guys I'm Sharon Vaknin for CNET and
if you've been ignoring all of googles
warnings about a new privacy policy
here's what you need to know on March
1st
Google will take your web history what
you've googled what pages you visited
and share that data across all of its
web services you see right now each web
service like Google Docs and Google
search has its own privacy policy it's
good for you but not so much for the
goog with this new policy Google will
use information it collects in say
Google Docs and give you better search
results or suggestions based on what you
document it's pretty invasive but Google
insists it'll make your daily life
easier we'll see about that
if you want to erase any web activity
that Google has collected from Google
Plus YouTube and other Google accounts
before this happens here's how sign in
to your Google account then head to
google.com slash history in your browser
if your web history is enabled you'll
see a list of any searches you've made
or sites you visited recently now click
the grey remove all web history button
here then ok and your history will be
cleared and free from exploitation by
Google doing this also stops Google from
tracking any more activity like this but
if you change your mind just click
resume if you have any questions let me
know on Twitter for cnet.com I'm Sharon
Vaknin
you
