2012-06-15
hey what's going on everyone I'm Jeff
Bakalar for cnet.com we're here in the
amazing scene at New York lab where all
the magic happens today I'm going to
show you how you can control your xbox
360 with your iPhone now oddly enough
this will only work with the iPhone even
though the my xbox live app is available
for the iPod Touch and the I pet only
going to work with the iPhone so make
sure your Xbox and the iPhone are both
connected to the same home network
that's really easy to do so the first
thing you're going to want to do is let
your Xbox be available on the home
network for control so you go into
system settings console settings and
then you're going to want to go down to
Xbox Companion make that available and
then your iPhone should be able to
detect the Xbox on your home network you
can then tell the my Xbox Live app to
connect to the Xbox you should get a pop
up so once everything is connected and
you've got the companion notification on
screen will be a fake Xbox controller
and can use it to start scrolling
through the sides of the menu it's
pretty cool very easy to complete
unfortunately you can't use it on an
iPod Touch or an iPad for whatever
reason it only works with the iPhone and
you're not really going to want to play
any video games with the on-screen
controller because let's be honest it's
nothing like using a real Xbox
controller I hope this tutorial was easy
enough to follow I'm Jeff Bakalar for
cnet.com thanks for watching
you
