the Dell Venue seven and eight tablets
are simple pair of smooth performing
vanilla Android slates for the budget
conscious shopper I'm Xiomara Blanca
Christina and we're gonna take a first
look at these two tablets the 7 and 8
inch slates are relatively thin in life
but even in the category of budget
Talbots you can find sleeker the back
panel features a circular groove texture
that's reminiscent of a vinyl record I
found it to be a stylish alternative to
the typical smooth matte backside the
grooves aren't sharp or deep enough to
make an impression and it feels
comfortable against your fingertips on
the top edge there's a power button
microphone pinhole and headphone jack
and microUSB port volume buttons and
micro SD card slot located on the left
and right edges the single speaker is
located on the bottom edge and it works
conjunctively with Mac's
audio mobile and app made for enhancing
audio while watching video listening to
music or gaming the Talbots run Android
4.4 KitKat
and aside from some pre-loaded software
it's a pure Android experience right out
of the box the preloaded apps include
full Suites of Amazon and Google apps as
well as Polaris Office Evernote a few
popular mobile games and more in
addition Dropbox is also on there and
you get a free 20 gigabytes of cloud
storage for a year with the purchase of
your Dell tablet the venue 7 and 8 house
of 1.6 gigahertz a dual-core Intel Atom
processor 1 gigabyte of RAM and 16
gigabytes of internal storage there's a
1 megapixel front facing camera and a 5
megapixel rear camera the native camera
app doesn't offer a lot of scene modes
or manual options but I found the rear
cameras to produce sharper more detailed
photos than what I'm used to seeing on
tablets for basic tasks they
consistently performed swiftly web
browsing was silky smooth and mobile
games ran without a hitch performance
did slow down when downloading many
updates at once and when loading large
apps but that's to be expected out of
simply spec slate the venue 7 is one of
the smoothest performing small budget
tablets and
it's 159 starting price it's a great
option for bargain shoppers though the
ADA then you similarly performs well
it's design isn't as compact as
comparable expect mid-size tablets and
there's nothing to really make it stand
out against the competition unless a
vanilla Android experience is something
you crave for a more in-depth look at
these two Dell slates check out my full
review on Cena again I'm Xiomara Blanco
and this has been a first look at the
Dell Venue seven and eight
