Don't let Facebook use your location to find friends (How To)
2016-06-29
you've noticed the suggested friends
feature on Facebook is getting a little
bit creepier you're not the only one the
social media giant has been accused of
using your phone's location to connect
you with other users kind of like tinder
and if you'd rather not use Facebook for
these types of miss connections you may
want to consider limiting the location
information you're sharing on the app if
you have a newer version of Android you
can do this on the settings menu click
on apps and then applications manager if
you're on a galaxy phone scroll down to
your Facebook app and once you're in
click on permissions and disable
location for older models you can go
directly to the Facebook app click on
the menu bar at the top right hand
corner then account settings and
location once you click on location
services you'll be taken to your
settings menu and you'll have to disable
a few others as well you don't want to
do this you can just delete the app and
use the web version on Chrome your
battery will thank you for it too if
you're an iPhone user go to your
settings menu look for the privacy
option right below the battery and now
click on location services if you
granted facebook access to your location
at any point you should see this in the
list once you click you'll have three
options click on never if you want to
err on the safe side now this doesn't
guarantee you won't see the random
friends suggestion once in a while but
at least now you know Facebook is not
following your every move
