EA pulls Star Wars Battlefront II microtransactions (CNET News)
2017-11-16
ei is ditching microtransactions in Star
Wars Battlefront 2 for now at least the
company released an online statement on
Thursday afternoon admitting the micro
transactions in Battlefront 2
overshadowed and otherwise great game
the game isn't due to officially launch
until Friday but players who got early
access were quick to point out issues
with in-game payments saying hero
characters like Darth Vader and Luke
Skywalker took up to 40 hours to unlock
unless of course you were willing to pay
to play players quickly took to Reddit
saying EA had gone way too far
EA responded saying it would reduce the
credits needed to unlock the top
characters by 75%
but the Fuhrer didn't die down and now
EA has gone further we've heard the
concerns about potentially giving
players unfair advantages the company
said this was never our intention sorry
we didn't get this right but if you're
expecting to say goodbye to in-game
payments we have bad news
while the option to purchase so-called
crystals in-game is offline for now EA
says this option will become available
at a later date after it's made changes
to the game it seems micro transactions
are just like sandpeople they'll be back
so did EA go too far let us know your
thoughts
unless of course I already know them I'm
