Facebook Microsoft YouTube and Twitter
have formed an alliance the tech giant's
announced this week that they'll be
joining forces to identify and prevent
terrorist propaganda spreading on their
sides together they'll create a shared
database of unique digital fingerprints
for violent terrorist imagery or
terrorist recruitment videos the
database will also include images that
they've removed from their services to
make it easier to spot similar offenders
on other networks social media has
increasingly become an effective tool
for terrorist groups to push their
violent agenda and attract new recruits
until this year Facebook Twitter and
Google had relied heavily on user
complaints to identify a terrorist
propaganda in June all three were
charged with providing material support
to terrorist groups such as Isis for
their November 2015 terrorist attacks in
Paris
despite the Alliance and the
collaborative database the decision to
remove the material will still be at the
discretion of social media sites stay up
