Finger swipe and glide to command GE's new Monogram induction range
2015-01-20
hey guys this is Brian Bennett at C net
and we are taking a first look at the
brand-new GE Monogram 36 inch induction
cooktop this very futuristic looking
range actually has a ton of new features
that ge is bringing into its product
lineup in 2015 first off you're gonna
notice that it uses induction cooking
technology that sends a magnetic field
around your pots and pans that are
magnetic to heat them up with precision
and lots of control and with lots of
speed the other thing here that you'll
see is it has these glide touch controls
which enable you to turn on each burner
just with a swipe of your finger kind of
like a smartphone or a tablet what's
also cool is you can link these burners
together so you can have two burners
going at the same time also pretty sweet
is a $150 accessory which enables sube
cooking it essentially is a thermostat
or a thermometer that sits right here
inside your stockpot you've got water in
there and it connects via bluetooth to
the range and you're able to see the
temperature readout of what you want the
water to be so if you want to get your
hands on one of these induction cooktops
it isn't gonna be a impulse buy you're
gonna have to spend thirty one hundred
dollars for the top-of-the-line 36 inch
monogram induction range you see here
and prices will get lower if you say go
with a profile or a cafe product from GE
another thing is if you want to get one
of these in your house you're gonna have
to wait until May of 2015 because that's
when GE says these products are going to
ship I'm Brian Bennett for CNET
appliances and we've just taken a first
look at the GE Monogram induction range
you
