not too long ago the venerable Firefox
was struggling google chrome was new and
on the rise and mozilla had not been as
focused on what people wanted speed and
stability that's all changed and Firefox
is back hi I'm Seth Rosenblatt for cnet
and today we're taking a first look at
the modern Firefox Firefox now has a
major emphasis on speed and stability
crashes from add-ons mostly are over
with it's also the best browser on the
market for massive numbers of tabs it
can scale on desktops to more than a
hundred tabs with very few problems and
it can also group your tabs Firefox Sync
makes it easy to jump across your
devices by syncing add-ons bookmarks
passwords tabs preferences and history
you can search from the location bar or
search box which exists to provide
Mozilla with revenue you can however get
rid of it and customize Firefox just as
you would in the past Firefox still has
a very deep add-on catalog and the new
minimalist browser interface really
maximizes your screen space other
features in the browser include private
browsing the do not track header
excellent developer tools and very
aggressive support of the still in
progress html5 another big plus with
Firefox is that if you're skittish about
browsing with Google or Microsoft you do
get the same features but with a better
reputation for user privacy with your
first look at firefox 17 I'm Seth
Rosenblatt
you
