hey there I'm Josh Goldman senior editor
with cnet and this is a look at the GE e
14th NSW it's a better than basic ultra
compact with a 10x zoom lens in front 3
inch LCD on back and micro HDMI output
and a 14 megapixel CMOS sensor all for a
reasonable price below 160 dollars now
there are similar cameras from other
manufacturers priced as low but they use
slower performing CCD sensors the CMOS
sensor allows for fast burst shooting at
up to 10 frames per second at full
resolution 1080p movie capture and high
dynamic range photos the camera has a
nice selection of shooting options too
including some fun color modes and an
easy panorama creator photo quality is
good given its price you won't want to
use it indoors or in low light without a
flash but in daylight you'll get fine
results and it's shooting performance is
decent too but the camera always turns
on with the flash activated and auto so
if it thinks you need the flash you'll
be waiting to shoot in fact just about
any setting change you make for photos
that strays from the defaults will be
undone when you power off or change
shooting modes which can be very
frustrating otherwise if you primarily
stay in auto and do the majority of your
shooting during the day it's a good
value i'm josh golden and that's the GE
e 14th nsw
