I'm David Connolly executive editor cnet
com and I'm here with the new barnes and
noble simple touch with glowlight this
is an e-ink device so it is good for
reading outdoors but Barnes & Noble is
making a big deal about that glow light
it does display uniformly across the
screen and it is integrated right into
the device a lot of people do read at
night and according to barnes and noble
this was the number one feature that
people asked for in a new ereader it
does come with a cost the device is a
hundred and thirty nine dollars you get
an AC adapter with that to charge it as
well as an anti-glare screen cover but
it is forty dollars more expensive than
the regular Simple Touch which stays on
the market from a design perspective
there really isn't any difference here
except for the gray border around it
that has changed barnaul says it has
managed to shave off about six percent
of the weight while maintaining the
battery life at around one month with
about half an hour to use a day the
other key performance upgrade is that
the touch screen has been enhanced it is
more responsive than the simple touch
that is not a software upgrade but is
actually something that's been
engineered into the product so some
slight enhancements in terms of
performance but the real key feature
here is the new glow light which does
work very well in the dark i'm david
carr nguoi and that's the new barnes and
noble simple touch ereader with
glowlight thanks for watching
