hey there i'm josh golden senior editor
with cnet and this is a look at the sony
cybershot DSC HX 200b it's Sony's
highest zoom compact featuring a 30x
zoom lens and actually much of the rest
of the camera is the same as its
predecessor THX 100b and that includes
the 3 inch ultra high res LCD the barrel
control of the zoom or focus and
plentiful shooting options from full
manual to full auto you do get some
feature improvements though like gps
logging some sliders for adjusting
brightness color and vividness and auto
modes and a bunch of picture effects to
experiment with unlike competing models
from Fuji film and Panasonic you won't
find more advanced options like raw
capture or a hot shoe for an external
flash but you might not miss much of
those with all that the camera can do in
fact the HX 200 can be a bit
overwhelming at first so you're going to
want to learn all that it can do to get
the best results for your needs that
said photo and movie quality are
excellent for this type of camera and
its shooting performance is equally good
with fast autofocus and almost no
shutter lag totally worth considering if
you're after a long zoom lens and a big
body i'm josh golden and that's the sony
cybershot HX 200 be
