hi I'm ty Pendlebury from cnet.com and
this is a review of the sharp LC 80 le
632 u TV ask most people would they look
for when buying a television and what
they'll say is either the best or the
biggest for the money well they don't
come any bigger than this 80 inch
monster and my sci-fi addled brain can
only compare it to the monolith from
2001 or George Lucas's Death Star this
outrageously sized television also comes
with an outrageous price tag
five-and-a-half thousand dollars the
same as sharps premium 60-inch elite TV
a magnificent TV by the way but don't
expect much from this one apart from a
gigantic screen because while you do get
Smart TV and onboard wireless you don't
get 3d image quality is also a secondary
concern as it's quite difficult to make
an LCD screen this size without spending
a lot of money on special coatings and
things like LCD dimming arrays however
the TV is a full array LCD which means
that the illuminating LEDs are directly
behind the screen the TV does come with
a dimming mode of some sort but as far
as we can tell it only works when
testing it with testing equipment and
won't be noticeable during most viewing
black levels for the money are fairly
poor and colors are overly green if you
want TV that perform similarly we'd
point to the 55 inch LG 5500 a TV about
two-thirds of the size but only a third
of the price you're essentially paying
to impress people here and if you don't
look too hard you will be impressed -
this has been ty Pendlebury with a
review of the sharp LC Atle 632 u TV
