hey there I'm Josh Goldman senior editor
for cnet and this is a look at the
panasonic lumix dmc ts4 it's the
company's top rugged camera that's
waterproof to about 40 feet shockproof
to 6.6 feet and freezeproof and
dustproof which are the same ratings as
2011 sts-3 it's 4.6 X like a zoom lens
and 12 megapixel high speed ccd sensor
and 2.7 inch LCD are the same too so
basically you end up with the same image
quality and shooting performance as its
predecessor which were both very good
what is new are some shooting options
like Full HD video and ABC HD or mp4 a
miniature effect for photos and videos
easy panoramas and a time-lapse option
as well as some other minor feature
tweaks there's also a manual mode with
control over shutter speed and aperture
so if none of those things are terribly
important to you upgraders from the ts3
might want to pass but otherwise it's
still a very good rugged camera i'm josh
golden and that's the panasonic lumix ts
