welcome to geek pop I'm Molly would know I'm Tom Merritt and it is time to give you the scoop on the latest in geeky movies TV DVDs and more that's right will help to set your geeky weekend plans let's start with the cinema perhaps you've seen the odd billboard or bust advertisement with insulting messages about this poor Sarah Marshall girl longs with some sort of website address personally I refuse to fall for this obvious marketing scheme and visit the website but it turned out it was all for a movie which is in theaters this week you can now go about your business I will and much better sounding releases gently and Jackie Chan Tina Muppet the fool didn't Kingdom as you would expect it involves a guy hunting down bootleg kung fu DVDs who gets hurtled back in time where a must free the monkey king who's been imprisoned by the evil Jade warlord this is insane there's also a band of misfits and a silent monk standard stuff we can't kill each other when it's over next zombie strippers hey baby nice to meet you yeah in heat opens this week yep star in Robert Englund you know Freddy Krueger nuff said and finally we are five short weeks away from the May 22nd premiere of Indiana Jones the Crystal Skull and a new trailer was just released for your viewing pleasure if you're not excited about this movie you're alone you loser a Fandango pull of 5,000 people voted it the most anticipated movie of the summer it is expected to gross 1 billion dollars worldwide that's a day before your birthday right yes it is good memory time I'm getting you for your birthday Harrison Ford doll yeah thanks for putting in the prompter so I wouldn't forget you know it I also expecting that this movie may save Hollywood this summer with its 1 billion dollars expected worldwide revenues yeah cuz it's been a bad year so far attendance is down six point two percent I'm thinking Indy is plenty yeah Andy will save us yeah as it should be all right enough about that let's move on to TV big news on the battlestar front sci-fi has announced that they will stream all the new episodes alive every friday at 12 eastern at sify com so you can watch that night's episode online hours before it airs holy spoiler disaster Batman also BSG creator ronald moore gets a new show called virtuality and surprise it's sci-fi and it's set in space it's kind of you know what he does the pilot got the green light and they're targeting early 2009 for release the Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood lines up its season on BBC America friday at the same time Doctor Who proper kicks off a new run on sci fi the new year of who starts with a 90-minute special starring Kylie Minogue yes that Kylie Minogue UK fans will recognize the Premier's the annual Christmas special aired in the UK end of last year the doctors real new companion Donna Noble shows up for the first time in next week's episode okay okay lost pans get good news this week the only kind of news they ever want in fact more lost the season finale has added an extra hour it's now being built as a three-hour event with one hour on May fifteenth and a two-hour finale on may 29th they're skipping the week in between and it's apparently because show creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse convince the network that the last two hours had to be shown together whatever as long as I get an extra hour I'm not complaining the series picks back up with new episodes April 24th that's next week in case your county and finally a couple more notes code monkeys returns to g4 for a second season of animated fun starting sunday the twentieth best part about that is the theme song and southpark finishes up its 12th season on Comedy Central Wednesday the 23rd Wednesday that went once again with my birthday oh no that's April Oh your birthday is in may I have my birthday on the brain finally let's finish up with some DVDs on the shelves and I don't know in the envelopes anyway it's out this week aliens vs predator requiem two iconic monsters battle it out over a Midwestern town why don't they just agree to split it dude all I have to say about this is jess more alien more predator morgue or more dead Midwesterners i can't they just get along your goal your outsiders he doesn't understand that's it for this week everybody thank you for watching please pass me by you you
